Compassion Management
posted by JulesLiving from our authentic self takes bravery and fortitude. Others might judge or baulk but our job is to stay steadfast – Dr Jennifer Howard
I have been told by many clients and colleagues over the years “I have a work head and a non-work head” and I heard this often in the context of managing work relationships and stress. It’s always struck me as rather odd and I have often wondered how difficult it must be to manage and live with these different ‘personalities’.
Being your true authentic self 100% of the time, as Dr Jennifer Howard says. ‘takes bravery and fortitude’. I believe that one of the reasons that we find this difficult is because at heart we are kind, caring and loving people but are fearful of others reactions if we allow them to see us as we truly are. This applies even more strongly in the workplace.
Over the years my management training and experience has helped me to realise that the times when my team and I have done outstanding work or achieved ‘the impossible’ has been when I have adopted a much more caring, kind, compassionate and, dare I say it, loving approach to the people I work with.
I specialise in that often much neglected area of ‘middle management’ where resources are always stretched, multi-tasking is essential and extra hours are the norm. If you are a Manager, Team Leader or Supervisor this training will take your management practice to a higher level that will bring amazing results and benefits for you, your team and the organisation as a whole.
During this training you will:
- Understand why compassion and management can work together successfully in your organisation
- Learn ways of developing empathy for others in the workplace to create increased understanding
- Learn why a warmer, more caring approach to staff can increase motivation
- Learn a direct, honest approach for dealing with staff that will never offend
- Learn to be authentic in your management role and how that can increase performance
- Understand the value of demonstrating true kindness to your colleagues and how that has a direct, positive affect on the bottom line
- How to deal with those that challenge us the most
Underpinned by solid workable management techniques Compassion Management will allow you to be your authentic self at work and allow your team to do the same.
There may be some funding available to your organisation for this work so please don’t hesitate to call us to find out more.
